– progress so far
A number of alumni have so far contacted us with information about where they lived and who lived around them and all that information is being compiled. Currently, responses from those who matriculated in the 1950s and 1960s outstrip those from matriculants in all other decades and we have been sent several wonderful photographs of the College from those years, including that shown below (courtesy of A.G. Beeden, 1957) .
What is more, we have been told some fascinating memories of student life, of fellow undergraduates and of the joys and hardships of College accommodation (with particular emphasis on the ablution blocks)! We hope to bring you more of these memories in subsequent College publications.
Still gaps in our records!
Despite this brilliant start, we still need your help because there remain gaps in our records - especially concerning the 1980s and 1990s.
Whenever you matriculated, please keep telling us which rooms you lived in and who lived around you, and continue to share with us your favourite recollections of Downing.
