Alumni Day and Association Dinner 2025
Saturday 27 September, from 12:00
Alumni Day starts this year at 12.00, when registration opens in the Grace Howard Room and name badges will be available to collect.

Complimentary refreshments will be available in the Grace Howard Room (from 12:00-13:30 and 14:00-16:00) and Alumni Association merchandise will be on sale until 16:00 (profits from these sales provide small grants to undergraduates). A seating plan will be available for the Alumni Association Dinner.
Cafeteria lunch from 12.00. Please note that service finishes promptly at 13.30 and that cash payments are no longer accepted in College. Credit/debit cards and Apple/Google Pay will be accepted.
At 16:00 everyone is welcome to attend a short presentation by the Master, in the Howard Theatre, where he will announce the winners of Alumnus/a of the Year and Young Alumnus/a of the Year.
The Master will then introduce our keynote speaker Professor Bill O’Neill, Fellow in Engineering, who will deliver the Alumni Day lecture on Illuminating the Future: The Transformative Power of Laser Materials Processing.
Immediately following the lecture, alumni are encouraged to attend the Alumni Association AGM, from 17:00 until 17:30, chaired by the President, Julia Harrison,1981.
Papers for the Downing College Alumni Association's AGM are available to download. If you wish to have copies of these documents at the AGM, please print them and bring them with you.
From 18:15 alumni and guests are invited to the College Chapel for Choral Evensong with the Chapel Choir of Downing College. Please attend in black tie, then go straight to the drinks reception in the Grace Howard Room.
The Alumni Association Dinner starts at 19:00 with drinks in the Grace Howard Room, followed by dinner in the Hall from 19:30.
The dress code for dinner is black tie and thank you to those members who have provided details of their special dietary or access requirements.
There will be a bar in the Howard Building Drawing Room from 21:30 until 23:30.

Booking for this event, including accommodation, closed at 13:00 on Friday 5 September. As per our Terms and Conditions we regret that refunds cannot be issued once booking has closed. However, if you can no longer attend please let us know, no matter how late, so that we can amend the table plan and offer your places (if applicable) to those on any waiting lists.
