Downing Launches Catalysis

Creating the Energy for Change

Catalysis Launch 001   Catalysis Launch 002

Downing is launching Catalysis, a comprehensive fundraising campaign with a goal to raise £20m for the College's endowment by the end of 2015. The Master, Professor Barry Everitt, officially announced Catalysis on Monday, 2 November at the RAF Club, Piccadilly, before an audience of over 200 Downing members.

Catalysis refers to the creative and intellectual energy Downing inspires in its students and Fellows, and its ability to precipitate change within society. The campaign focuses on a comprehensive set of needs which are all underpinned by the College's endowment. A larger endowment will allow the College to stride forward with the confidence that it can continue to invest in future generations of Downing students and Fellows so that they may benefit from the same advantages that are enjoyed today and that are the product of the generosity of past generations.

Many of you will receive information on our annual fund in the post. This is your opportunity to participate in Catalysis and celebrate all of the elements that make Downing great. All gifts to the annual fund will count towards the campaign total. We look forward to learning which College priorities will give you the most pleasure to support.
