     The Buy-a-Brick scheme

Engraved bricks in situ, Photograph by Tim Rawle and Louis Sinclair ©

Those who supported First Court by naming a brick in the Buy-a-Brick campaign are now welcome to come and view them in situ, in our beautiful new First Court. The bricks were salvaged from the rear garden walls of Lensfield Road houses. As each house was renovated over time, the back wall, a barrier between the garden and the paddock, was removed to better integrate the houses into the Domus. These bricks, Cambridge Gray, were carefully stored and then engraved for donors to this project.

The diagram below shows the areas in which the original bricks were inserted in the wall of the art gallery - do come and find yours!
