Please note that the 'Recent graduate' category includes only those who graduated in 2015 or since. If you graduated in 2014 or before, you need to book here.
Alumni Day starts at 12.00, when registration opens in the Grace Howard Room, where Downing College Alumni Association merchandise will be on sale. A display from the Downing College Archive 40 Years of Women exhibition will be in the Grace Howard Room during the day on Saturday.
A pay-as-you-go cafeteria lunch is available in the Hall from 12:00 to 13:00; please note that Downing College is now cashless, so you will need to use a credit or debit card to pay for your lunch (you may also use Apple or Google Pay).
Complimentary afternoon tea will be available in the Grace Howard Room between 15:00 and 16:00.
There will be a panel discussion - 40 Years on: What has Downing meant to women?" - chaired by the Master, from 16:00 to 17:00 in The Howard Theatre. The Master will be joined by Dr Kate Panter (1981, President of the Alumni Association), Jenny Ulph (College Archivist), Caitlin Bones (2018, MCR President) and the Vice Master, Professor Zoe Barber, for an engaging discussion on 40 Years of Women at Downing.
This event will be followed by the Downing College Alumni Association AGM from 17.00 to 17.30 (events in the Howard Theatre will be live streamed for those who cannot attend).
From 18:15 alumni and guests are invited to the College Chapel for Choral Evensong with the Chapel Choir of Downing College. The Chapel Choir of Downing College is a mixed-voice choir made up primarily of students from Downing, traditionally holding a reputation as one of the friendliest choirs in Cambridge. The Chapel boasts one of the best acoustics in Cambridge. Guests are invited to attend in black tie, then go straight to the drinks reception in the Grace Howard Room.
Please note, we are currently limiting numbers for the Association Dinner. This is because we are working on a socially distanced seating plan, which reduces the number of places we can offer. If we reach capacity, we will operate a waiting list and hope to be able to release more seats once we are confident that this can be done safely. We will comply with all College Covid-secure guidance. Alumni are welcome to bring one guest to dinner and places will be available on a first come, first served basis. Dress code for the dinner is black tie. Pre-dinner drinks will be in the Grace Howard Room from 19:00; dinner will commence at 19:30 in the Hall.
