Culture and Community

College life is not entirely about work. The quality and richness of life in Downing is enhanced by the variety of activities that the students organise for themselves, not least through the JCR and MCR. Students come together to perform music and drama, play sport, form societies, eat together, formally and informally, and to engage in spiritual and religious contemplation. These are the activities within which friendships are forged and without which the College would be a far less special place.

If you had a favourite sport or activity at Downing, perhaps you would like to make a contribution towards the College’s costs for supporting that activity. For example, you could help to endow the Griffins Sports Fund or provide a Choral Scholarship of £120 per annum.
